By Ruby & Lacey

This is a story of a girl, With a spectacular talent. Her name was Josephene, She adored music. She especially loved piano.

As she walked down the stairs to the kitchen. She saw her two younger brothers fighting over a violin. Her brothers names were Albert, and James. Albert was 6 years younger than Josephene, and James was 3 years younger than Josephene. Their dad absolutely LOVED music. And he didn’t just love it, he was awfully good at it too! So they had loads of instruments, and one of them was a violin.“Stop it! You’re going to break the violin!” Said Josephene with a worried look in her eyes. But ignoring their sister's advice, the brothers continued to fight. But then, they went too far. As the violin broke in half, so then. They had to say sorry to their parents, it wasn’t easy. But they did it, since the only violin they had was broken. Albert wanted to learn piano, but the mum didn't think music was important. So they only let one of of the children to learn. So Albert wanted to play piano, since his violin was gone.

But as Albert played, Josephine began to love piano so much. Albert had lessons once a week, and every time he had lessons Josephine would come to his lessons, and stand in the corner of that room, listening to Albert playing the piano. One day, Josephine asked her mum if she could learn piano too. But her Mother didn't think it was important “no, I will not let for you to learn!” Said Josephine’s mum, Carelessly. Josephene loved piano so much that she begged her mum. At one point, her mum got tired of her pleading. So she gave Josephene, a cheaper piano teacher.

This teacher wasn’t too pleasant, and didn’t really care if Josephene was learning or not. But Josephene was happy with her teacher, even if she was a bit harsh. She loved learning, and one day. Her family moved houses, when they moved, Albert stopped learning. But Josephene continued to learn, she got a nicer teacher, who was kind. And taught Josephene well, she encouraged Josephene to do as well as she could. Josephene was an amazing piano player, and she was learning to play classical music in no time. She loved Beethoven songs, she was so good at it. But when she was beginning to learn grade 10 music sheets, at the age of only 13. Her mum said that she couldn’t learn piano anymore. They were low on money, so she couldn’t learn any longer… “Please, let me continue to learn piano please!” She begged. But no matter how hard she tried her mum wouldn't let her. Josephene continued to love music, but never got to play. Each day, she saved up every dollar she had. So at the age of 21 , she had enough money to fly away. To New York, to study music.

Her brothers also flew away, James went to Australia. And Albert went to Canada, but in the future. Josephene’s biggest regret was letting them all live so far away from each other. There in New York, Josephene studied hard. She could afford a nice apartment, and most of all. A good piano teacher. As Josephene was on her way to the grocery store, she bumped into an old friend. She invited Josephene over for dinner. “We’re having a big clean up and we’re moving away, Back to our home town. We’re throwing away most things.” Said Josephene’s friend as she sipped some soup. “What kind of things?” Asked Josephene in curiosity, “we are tossing, a Stienway piano, a-” “I’ll take the piano!” said Josephene in excitement. “How much should I pay you?” “It’s ok, no need to pay. I was gonna toss it anyway.” “Oh, Thank you!” Said Josephene as she gave her friend a hug. Josephene paid some people to take the piano to her apartment. They took her old piano out, and moved her new piano in. She played the Steinway piano every day. The piano sounded AMAZING. The music was beautiful, although Josephene didn’t get to learn much she worked so hard. So one day, she was playing on stage. In concerts, and everywhere in New York. She wasn’t too famous, and wasn’t on the internet. But she was good enough to play in Steinway Hall in no time.
